Margaret Stevenson To Join
Faculty !
Ms.
Stevenson is currently finishing her doctorate in Social Psychology at the
University of Illinois at Chicago. Her undergraduate degrees were
awarded by Ohio State University.
Concerning her specific research interests: "I study issues at the
intersection of children, psychology, and the law. Specifically, I am
interested in factors that influence jurors' decisions in cases involving
child crime (i.e., juvenile delinquency) and child victimization (e.g.,
child sexual abuse, child physical abuse, infanticide). Currently I am
studying how jurors discuss a defendant's history of child physical abuse
during deliberations in the sentencing phase of a death penalty case. I am
also exploring public reactions to sex offender registration laws as they
apply to juvenile sex offenders."
